How to Manage Business Settings

The Settings section is where you configure your business identity, tax rules, document designs, and payment preferences. Proper configuration ensures that your invoices and receipts look professional and comply with local regulations.

1. Navigating to Settings

To access your business configuration:

  • Log in to your Cordlo account.

  • Select the specific Business you want to manage.

  • From the sidebar menu, click on Settings.

2. Managing Business Profile (Account)

Update your core business information to ensure it appears correctly on documents:

  1. Under the Account tab, you can modify:

    • Business Name & Logo: Upload a high-quality logo for your invoices.

    • Contact Information: Email, phone number, and physical address.

    • Localization: Set your business Timezone and Primary Currency.

  2. Click Save Changes to update your profile.

3. Configuring Taxes

Set up tax rules that can be applied to your sales and purchases:

  1. Navigate to the Taxes tab.

  2. Add New Tax: Click the add button and enter the Tax Name (e.g., VAT) and the Percentage.

  3. Manage Existing Taxes: You can edit or delete existing tax rates from the list.

  4. Default Tax: Choose a tax rate to be automatically applied to new invoices.

4. Document Design and Customization

Customize the look and feel of your Invoices and Estimates:

  1. Go to the Design tab.

  2. Select Template: Choose from professional layouts like Classic, Modern, or Minimal.

  3. Brand Colors: Use the color picker to set your primary brand color, which will be used for headers and accents.

  4. Signature: * Upload: Upload an image of your authorized signature.

    • Draw: Use the digital pad to draw your signature directly in the browser.

  5. Typography: Select a font that matches your business style.

5. Payment and Bank Settings

Configure how you want to receive money:

  1. Bank Accounts: In the Bank Account tab, add your local bank details (Account Name, Number, and Bank Name) to display them on invoices for manual transfers.

  2. Extra Charges: Use the Charges tab to set up standard additional fees like shipping or processing fees.

  3. Payment Integrations: Quick-link to the Integrations page to connect digital gateways like Stripe or Paystack.

6. Reminders and Automation

Automate your follow-ups for unpaid invoices:

  1. Navigate to the Reminders tab.

  2. Toggle Enable Automated Reminders to “On.”

  3. Set the schedule (e.g., 3 days before due date, 7 days after overdue).

  4. Customize the email message template sent to customers.
